The Fast of the Ninth of Av

Tisha B’Av is a national time of mourning for the Jewish people, commemorating many tragedies throughout the generations, including the destruction of the Temples, the Spanish Inquisition, pogroms, and the Holocaust. There is a tradition of fasting on Tisha B’Av and reading excerpts from the Book of Lamentations. (Source: Hillel International).
